	Building the leaders of tomorrow with technology



	At Palmetto Elementary School we utilize today's technology as a tool to aid our students in the learning process. Each student has access to any number of computers, in their class room, Media Center or Computer Lab. Every computer in our school is connected to our LAN(Local Area Network) which is connected to a 10mbs inbound internet connection. This is to help our students while working on web based learning software.



	Each one of our classrooms have 7 computers that staff and students may use for their everyday learning process. 1) 1 Teacher workstation - DELL Optiplex GX 280 2) 6 Student workstation - DELL Optiplex GX 100 3) 1 Laser Printer Our Media Center has 20 computers for classes to use for any number of projects or for group instruction. Our Computer Lab is located in the Media Center with 27 workstations. The Computer Lab is used by grades 2nd through 5th for an hour a day. The lab is also used on Friday's for special projects and teacher training's.



	As technology changes and the improvement of software's we are always in need of upgrading our systems. With the help of the city of Pinecrest we have replaced a number of machines with brand new DELL computers. A Special Thanks to the Village of Pinecrest and its citizens.
